Meet The Team:
Ann Cherry, Director BSC Hons, MRCSLT, MASLTIP
I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, qualifying in 1984 in Cardiff, with a BSc Honors degree in Speech and Language Therapy. My clinical experience ranges from working with children and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and those with complex multiple disabilities, to working with adults with acquired neurological disorders, within schools, hospitals, community and multi-disciplinary team settings. I have been a service manager within the National Health Service. Since 1996, I have had my own Independent Practice and have been specialising in working with children who have cerebral palsy and children, adolescents and adults who have traumatic brain injury. I also work with children with speech and language delay and disorders. I enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of education and health professionals and the families we support.
Lynne Duckworth, Director BSC Hons, MRCSLT, MASLTIP
I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, qualifying from De Montfort University Leicester in 2001 with a BSc Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Between 2001-2013 I worked for the NHS in Lancashire, providing assessment and treatment to children and families from 18 months up to 18 years of age. I have managed clinical caseloads covering all paediatric speech and language difficulties and worked as part of multi-disciplinary teams throughout my career. In my most recent role for the NHS, I jointly developed and delivered a specialist service for children and young adults who stammer. I left the NHS in February 2013 to set up in independent practice in East Yorkshire and jointly founded Bridge SLT Ltd in December 2013 to run alongside my own independent practice www.speechworks.info . Throughout my career I have worked closely with education and health colleagues to provide training and support in meeting the needs of children with speech and language difficulties and strongly believe early intervention and collaborative working is fundamental in supporting a child to reach their optimum communicative potential.
